Jade......

Arent these just stunning...they are all different jade..the purples are a jade from Burma . Cant wait to get them . I am thinking maybe silver to use with the purples and not sure about the greens . I was really pleased with the other jade necklaces i made few weeks ago.They were a Korean jade and the typical dark green I associate most often with jade. Never knew it comes in So many colors....

Hope everyone has a great Fall Equinox today !!!!!!! I have been more on facebook lately than my blog. To find me on facebook go to http://www.facebook.com/lisabrawner I havent been very crafty lately. I moved that darn 4 ton of mulch to the back yard and I got a sinus infection from it and that has kept me down for last 2 weeks. So i took the chance to curl up on the couch and read a stack of paranormal romances ..my fav kind ! It has been really rainy but I am trying to get my walk in every day that I can ..

Here is a design i made up Sunday using vintage faceted black glass beads and agate beads of amethyst and quartz ..

Fiber and jade :)

Maggie from prairieland herbs sent me a spindle and roving for spinning my own yarn..How awesome is that!!!! This will be my fall weather craft. I like working with yarns and fibers when the weather turns crisp and cold.

Here are several Korean Jade necklaces I made up over the weekend. I also made 2 new batches of soap up. I have enough lye left for one more batch and then will be out. Will have to make up some scented shea butters after that. Money is really tight right now so I am trying to use up what supplies of things i have on hand ..rather than buy new ones .

Here are the pics of the pineapple /mango soap I made last week. I have it all wrapped and it will be for sale here in about 2 weeks . I am setting up an 8ft booth table so if i do an Oct event I will have an idea of what I will need .

I just poured 6 pounds soap in various colors and have it curing .. Will get pics of them when i unmold later on. I have been So wanting a pepsi on this diet of mine so I cut all the grass and did a 3 mile walk already today ...... I think i will treat myself to a pepsi now :) Later this evening I will work on tatting the lapquilt up. I am waiting on the fishing fabric to get here .....but I can have it all done up and tatted cause I am blanket stitching the fishing fabric in middle of the choc. brown fabric . It is turning out nice and heavy since I am using all upholstery fabric and has an old quilt inside for the batting.

The creative thoughts are flying thru my head once again . I am getting back in gear with my crafting. I ordered some orange and black oxides yesterday to make confetti lye soap with . Cant wait till it gets here.I want to make the soap with actual canned pumpkin like Bonne made and i loved so much...... I have some fly fishing upholstery fabric ordered from hancocks to make a friend a lapquilt for teaching me to fly fish. Though I am crazy for giving 34.99 yd for piece of waverly fabric . It is very elegant in design ...fishing and elegance is hard to find in fabirc believe me ! I ordered 1 yd and i will use other solid color upholstery fabric for rest of the quilt .The waverly fabric will take 2 weeks to get here though. I found a vintage pc of hunting fabric on ebay to do the back part of lapquilt with. I want a different scene on each side of the quilt .This piece of hunting fabric with the black poowder rifles is a piece from 1978 . Cant wait till they get here and I can start on it ...

I unexpectedly had yesterday off work so I happily worked in the craft room. I have used up most the "bead soup" I had. I may actually have to buy or barter for beads soon :). These 2 necklaces turned out nicely. Turquoise is a big favorite of mine to work with.
