 Here are more of the images I have used with the bamboo tiles ....they will all make a striking design for necklaces .The feathers will be turned into Southwestern designs as the summer goes along...

Ladies Riding Sidesaddle Designs

I have always loved pictures of ladies riding sidesaddle ..They look so elegant ...... I decide to turn a few of the ones i have collected into altered art designs ..... Here they have been modpoged on bamboo tiles to be later wirewrapped........I also like to collect images of cowgirls from the old west.. This is a larger piece i am making as a house warming gift for a friend :)

Yay Spring !!!!!!!!!

I am so excited that warmer weather is here finally !! I spent this weekend in the yard picking up limbs off the neighbors tree and cutting down the old blackberry canes ...they sure have the thorns !! 
I think i deserve a brownie for all the work i have done :)  
If it dont rain here in bit I am gonna put the potting soil in the containers and put my peas in them . When they get big nuff I will transfer them pot and all to their garden spot.

Here is my  first locker hooked rug after i finished it . PLaning to start another one in few days :)

Soon To Be a Grape Arbor ........

This is the beginning of a small grape arbor for my backyard. I put  4 ft landscape timbers in the ground and they are about 8 ft apart . I still have to buy timbers to be put across top the other ones next month.  I bought 2 of the red seedless.suffolk grapes at Home Depot last week . The plants are trying to grow like crazy in the house ............I can put them out quite yet as we still have alot of cold weather that could happen. Hoping they can do ok in the house for couple more weeks .

Pheasant Feather Hair Clips

Here is another of the pheasant feather hair clips that i have been creating. I used blue peacock feathers as an under color. I added freshwater pearls and jade along with a larger piece of a lapis and malachite  bead . I am wearing it today..makes me feel "girlish" at my age :)

My first rug.....

My first locker hooked rug is coming along nicely ...very time intensive but i enjoy it and the finished rug will be so thick and warm.

Stamps in altered art jewelry

I will try to get a better pic of these later today. I used a vintage foreign stamp for these 2 pieces . Both are very bright and colorful designs . They will look good with a solid color dark shirt.
I am finally getting down to the stash of odds n ends of things i have saved over the last year or two that i thought would be interesting turned into jewelry.

soap !!!!!!

I made 6 pounds of soap today :)  Now has to sit a few weeks and harden up .The deep purple dried roses were a nice finishing touch to it

Sold Designs

These designs are sold...they went to a friend who works at UKY  to wear blue and white day ......I think they turned out really fun with a bit of funky thrown in with the earrings ...........

New designs i decided to keep .......

I have started watching Vampire Diaries on dvd...love it too :) 

Also gives me a chance to work on some new jewelry designs. These are the ones i kept for myself from the last 2 days of designing. The stones are all so beautiful .I will be making some to sell also in my Etsy store .......
I just had to keep one of the Irish ones i made to wear come St Pats day ...

Rug hooking and stuff........

I have started working on locker hooked rugs..I am having so much fun with it all . I have decided to use fleece for the first several that i make. Fleece is as close to wool as i can get for durability . It makes a nice sturdy loop. I am finding that patterns on the fleece add a nice bit of color to the rug. Sweat shirt fabric would be another that would hold up well .

Finding the rug canvas is bit tricky. It can be expensive if purchased at a craft store. I am watching Ebay for vintage rug hooking canvas ..it is bit more affordable that way. The rugs are time comsuming but not too expensive in cost since i am using leftover fabric pieces from other projects.
I have so many ideas for the rugs using designs ...you are basically painting with the fabric pieces :)

On The First Morning Of a Snowy Vacation

Yay!!!!!!! First morning of vacation :) Of course it snowed some overnight. I woke up at 4 am and couldnt sleep so I went out to feed and water the stray kitties and the porch was all icy.....ughhhhhh!

So I came back inside and fixed a cuppa hot tea and curled up on the couch with my yarn stash . I am enjoying crocheting these little baskets alot. It uses up smaller balls of yarn and is interesting . I made the red and white doiley last night while I was watching Burn Notice .
