Neptune's Tear Necklace

After spending a month having to go in work early .I just cant seem to sleep past 4 am anymore.Which can work to my advantage if i plan to spend a day designing new pieces of jewelry..So a cuppa chai tea later I have this piece all ready for Etsy. It is mother of pearl dyed black..peach jasper..fresh water pearl ..and blue  jade. I added some blue howlite to complete its beauty :)

Pheasant Feather Hair Clips and Pendants .....

I liked the way this hair clip turned out. I originally meant it to be a necklace but half way thru I said "hair clip". I love to wear feathers on clips or barrettes.

Then the buttery quartz and jade turned out nice in these earrings ..  They are on Etsy for sale also.....

I decided to keep these . They look really cute when worn. The beads are fimo and have a zebra and elephant on them.

This design is stunning to see in person. The camera doesnt do it justice. The circle is a laser cut design and picks up the light. then there are 2 cut crystal beads in center of it ..I am also keeping this one. The blue diamond shape beads are a jade that has been dyed...nice energy to them !

Then several more pairs of earrings .. I need a couple of little "acts of kindness "gifts and these will be perfect

I also decided i needed  new keychain.My other had fallen apart weeks ago . Love the moon with the vintage pearl I added to it .

This tribal feather dancer is still a work in progress. Her glue has to dry overnight . Then I will be able to do bit more beading on her . When done she will be for sale on Etsy .

Stone and Feather Designs

Keeping to my theme of feathers and beads today.......i decide to take this really interesting stone a friend brought me and embellish it with feathers and beads..

Right now it is drying in the picture .Soon as it is dry i will decide what else to add to the design.You can see her ein the bottom pics what the stone looked like before the feathers were added . I decided i needed some new earring this morning also .I used green jade.rose quartz....and a buttery quartz for the 2 pairs.

Tribal Feather Dancer

It is cold and snowy here still ...a great weekend to stay in and create..So i took my chaotic pile of pheasant feathers and beads and let my imagination have free rein.

I am very pleased with the feather dancer that i have just finished.The warm earthy tones of the turkey feather was perfect for her.. I added some turquoise for her necklace and then handbeaded her dance belt . I added some rose quartz chip for a nice touch to the belt. 
She will be for sale in my Etsy store if anyone is interested :)

Afternoon of yarn..modpodge and stamps........

I was given alot of cool stamps that are older  ........I was in 7th heaven when I recieved them :)  I picked out the ones I would be able to use and then gave rest away to the gals over on MJF board .. Sharing the creativity so to speak:) I used modpodge to glue them to the bamboo beads and pieces of faux leather . Then gave a light coat over tops of the stamps..  In a few days or so I will be using some of them in some jewelry designs.

 

I rolled up all the little bits n pieces of yarn into balls so i would have an idea of what all i had..
Then i used some of it for 2 pairs of fingerless gloves that will be gifts tomorrow for work .

Making legwarmers on a snowy day

It snowed last night ......ugh!!  I have snow shoveled and ran to library and chores all done . A short nap taken to recover from shoveling snow ....Now is craft time !!!!!!!!

I am working on another pair of leg warmers. These have horses on them. The yarn strips i am using remind me of a leopard appaloosa or a roan horse ..... I have the first one done and starting on the second now........I hope to finsih them today and have up for sale in my Etsy store.

Persephone and Hades Myth Necklace

I managed to get better pictures of the new line of my jewelry today.. One has already found a new home with a friend so it wont be pictured here. The other 2 are ready for that special person who sees the magick in them....
I love the myth of Persephone and Hades and this symbolizes that myth to me...... However i dont view it as a tragedy .. maybe i watched too many Hercules series shows...but i can see the love Hades and Persephone shared.
The black is a bead of hematite that i have wire wrapped and there is vintage chezh glass ...black agate beads and hematite beads in the design . This symbolize Hades and the underworld .then Persephone is the delicate pink nad green colored seed beads. Her and Hades are intertwined ( wire wrap) in a loving embrace. There is a green glass leaf bead to symbolize growth .for every relationship grows and becomes stronger if there is love ......  This design will be up for sale ...24.99 and that includes  shipping ......It can be found for purchase at  HERE...........

Creative First Day of The Year ..........

I am starting the new year out how I would like it to go...full of fun creativity ... I am watching Babylon 5 and working on the dancer legwarmers ...I figure each legwarmer will take over 3 hours to handstitch ......but i am enjoying them ....
I have the sun left to finish and add small crystal like seed beads to the edges of the rays .then maybe another round of the blue and tan funky chain to create a thicker braid. It also has small pink beads in the braid.....

Rainbow Tribal Dancer Legwarmers

These are what i have started on last night for my new line of gypsy dance wear that will go up soon on Etsy ..takes a bit of work to even get started .....cause all the yarn strips have to be made first ..then the design worked out. These are a bell bottom dance leg warmer that could be worn for hooping or even just around town .  I enjoy working with bright colors ......they make me all happy and cheery . You can get an idea of what they will eventually look like. Each design  is free hand drawn on the fabric ...so each dancer will be a bit different . I cant handle creating things that are "cookie cutter" perfect . She will have a hip belt and all added before she is done . The legwarmers ......depending on amount of work done will run 30 and up a pair .

Spring Awakening Line Of Jewelry

I have been watching my Babylon 5 dvds today and working on a few new designs that will for a group I call "Spring Awakening" .The black bead is hematite and i called it "Persophone Awakes"  It calls to me of spring breaking thru the dark and starting to blossom forth........ The white is a pearl and represents Aphrodite. I haven't named the necklace yet for it ...I need better pics of it tomorrow .All three designs will be up for sale soon as I get better pictures of them next day or so. Have to work tomorrow ..blah !

Then here is the 3rd design in the new line......   I havent named it yet either . It has freshwater pearls all in the design.

How to Make A Snow Globe

I was awake early this morning so I thought I might actually get a chance to read some of my fav blogs. I ran across this neat idea for Xmas or anytime. I am thinking Halloween esp....... it is How To Make A Snow Globe and is at http://www.thediydish.com/2010/12/how-to-make-a-snow-globe-day-10/   

I have added it to my ever growing book of projects I want to try out :) Last night i watched a movie and unraveled some old sweaters so I can use the yarn to make a couple of winter hats and fingerless gloves.

I ordered 2 used ..rug hooking books this week from Amazon. That is one of my new projects to learn for the coming year. That and actually figure out the whole "how to knit" thing . I have a dvd called "Art Of Knitting For Kids " that i plan to use to learn with .:)

Cloth Purses .........

Ooopps........Forgot to show the small cloth purses I am making. They are made just like the casserole pads and then i fold them over and handstitch them shut on part of the  sides...add a few buttons and a loop for a closure ....I like this fabric. I had gotten a yard of it at Hancock Fabric when they had 50% off the xmas fabric few weeks ago.I really was looking for a xmas fabric with cats but they didnt have any this year.These will be gifts and then i plan to make more after first of year to barter with ..

Casserole Pad Holders and Small Cloth Purses

I really like this lighthouse fabric that i had leftover from making the pillows . It was just enough for two nice size casserole hot pads. I made the binding to go around the edges . I have been making these while  I watch xmas movies. One just cant have Xmas without watching "Santa and The Three Bears" and "Scrooged" and "Flintstone's Christmas Carol" now can they :)

Fleece Leg Bandages ...

Only a couple new items to show off this week. I havent had a very productive week I am afraid . I have to wear a "boot" on my foot for an injury and it wears me out time i get in from work:( I did however make a stock of my own fleece wraps for my foot . I had some fleece leftover from another project to use. It is a "Polar" fleece which is thick and will hold really well.I cut it 6 inches wide and the fleece was about a yard and half long.
