I just cant stop crocheting :)

I have been crocheting up the stash of yarn scraps that  I had from various projects and i swear the yarn faeries replenish it each night :) 

Every fall i get hooked on crocheting one or two types  items.........this year it is Halloween Witch Hats and candle wreaths . They are perfect for using up scrap pieces of yarns and beads.. So i have been creating funky ones to wear and little cute ones for decoration. Here are a few pics of the ones i have made recently. I free-form crochet  ..which means i dont use a pattern.   

And as i was organizing my yarn i ran across  some chunky knitting needles that i wire wrapped up and turned into wands  ...........I just dont throw anything away do I ?? Instead i turn it into something else .......

T Shirt Into Yarn

Well..my fav old grey t-shirt has now been turned into "t shirt yarn "  I had several small holes along the bottom on the t-shirt that made it unwearble for me :( . SO i trimmed off that part and cut into strips for "yarn"  Since there are SO many great posts already on the web about how to do this i will just link to them :) I am one of those folks who beleive in reusing everything one can in thier life.. Why spend add to the land fill or even spend $$ for things if i can make them basically for free. Friends save me their old  t-shirts and i cut them up till i have enough for a locker hooked rug or to crochet into a rug or bag or even a washrag :)

Relaxing On A Sunday Morning ...........

A beautiful Sunday morning and a cool breeze to remind me of Autumn around the corner ........  I whipped up this wire wrapped Halloween image necklace and a filagree necklace ..Both are for sale over in my Etsy store.
I started watching "Haven " on my netflix this morning . Pretty interesting so  far :)

The Weekend Went By WAY Too Quick..........

The weekend went by SO quickly.......I decided Friday night that I wasn't  NOT going to do any chores all weekend and simply watch dvds and crochet !!!!!! I had a blast ......plus i gave my foot and leg a much needed break.I crocheted a fun butterfly button bracelet and several Witchy Halloween hats that I put over in my Etsy store.I am working on a fun hat that will have a steampunk ghost on it . I will get pics when i finish it up. I cut the grass after work this afternoon so i may not get much more done :(
I watched season 1 of Vampire Diaries so I would be ready to see Season 2 from Netflix here in few weeks and watched a couple of episodes of Beign  Human . Being  Human is ok ........not as good as Vampire Diaries though.
I baked cookies and the only chore I did was pick corn before the coons got it and boiled it all up.Tonight I will cut it off the cob and freeze till time to make corn puddings with it for the holidays .

Waiting on grass to dry

Since I am waiting on the grass to dry out after the heavy overnight storms..I decided a bit of movie watching and some crocheting was called for. I made 2 more Witchy Halloween Hats to sell in my Etsy store ....One is another blue n white one ( first one sold yesterday ) and then this fun    fall colored one . ( kinda matches my fall soaps I made too )

Simple Ways i Use to Add Color and Textures to My CP soap

I had a fun afternoon of making soap Saturday. I had planned to       do alot of yardwork and paint the cabinets also...but that didnt happen :). I did get 9 pounds of soap made at least. First i dug out the bag of soap bars that folks had given me at one time or another  . I dont like the soap you buy at the store.......But i do save it to break up and add colors to my CP lye soap. Trick to that is to stir in in after you pour your batch . If you just lay it down in the pan first it is kinda grainy on bottom of the bars, Plus if you stir it in.makes wonderful color blocks  all thru the bars. I put the bars in a baggie and take my hammer and tap them few times and it breaks up in seconds... Then next i take my **fancy** molds..aka. metal cookie tins and line with parchment paper . I actually do have 1 wooden soap mold that i use on occasion but i prefer the cookie tins actually . Whichever mold one uses BE SURE to line with parchment paper BEFORE you start making your CP soap batch . I love to use dried flower petals for color on top my soap also . I used blue mala flowers and sunflower petals and rose petals and orange lily petals . All had been dried before use

Witchy Halloween Hats

It has been another one of those long weeks ..........been doing some crocheting to relax and unwind.I just love to crochet witchy Halloween hats.They take about 4 hours to make one and give me a reason to curl up on the couch and relax :) I am also wanting to use up my yarn stash. Trying to declutter more on crafting projects before winter gets here. I want to focus on locker hooking rugs for the winter . I have a dog bed to make in next week or two plus I want to make my lapquilt with the fox hunting fabric I got on sale several years ago at Hancocks.

Saturday Mornings Wire Designs

These two designs literally created themselves this morning . All i did was add the "physical hands on "part. The copper colored wire and the green beads really glow in the goddess dancer . Each of these is OOAK ( one of a kind ) .
