Halloween Cat Pics To Share

HAPPY HALLOWEEN !!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone has a very magickal Halloweeen . I have little treat bags all made up for the kids.I had a long day at work today so I didnt do the normal dress up and such that I always did before. I am more interested in relaxing and putting my feet up I am afraid . I have pumpkin walnut bread for a Halloween snack as I sit and wait for all the kids to come a'knocking at my door tonight .

Hallowween Eve.........

The last pumpkin is in roasting and then I will blend them all up into yummy pumpkin breads and muffins. I think i will ice  a few of the pumpkin muffins also. I loaned my camera to a neighbor so will try to get pics later on.
It is a beautiful Fall day out so i plan to try and read a book outside for a bit this afternoon. I have Halloween type dvds I plan to get out and enjoy and work on a batch of wire wrap rings ..

I made up a lanyard and key holder for couple gals at work.....

Unwinding with yarn..........

I have been playing with yarn last few days ..Bonne sent me some fun colors and textures in yarn . It brings out the "cat" in me....and since it is almost Halloween time........the perfect thing to crochet is witchy hats . I have another almost finished . I will probaly take it to work with me and finish on break today :) The harvest brown and  gold I am keeping and the other 2 are gifts for gals I work with :)

Halloween Movie day ........

I have been watching Halloween type movies on dvd all day .. I started with The Butcher's Wife and went to Practical Magic ....then off to Mel Brook's Young Frankenstein. Now I have Return To Halloweentown on.I have been organizing my beading supplies from the big mess that they were ...to a more usable solution ........See how much nicer it all is now ......

I made up a few necklace sets while I was at it also ...just couldnt help myself :)

I have my kitty cat draft stopper half finished also. I need to embroidery the face on her yet. And then maybe a cute collar for her also.....

Wonder if can can skip winter and go straight to Spring ???????

I spent little more time this weekend on fixing the garden area . This is what it looked like first ...."HERE " then i went back and used some landscape timbers and made smaller areas in the cleared garden areas. I normally dont use them cause they draw tons of snails and sow bugs  but i plan to use the Diatomaceous Earth around the plants and timbers this next spring . Plus i want to get my plants out early as first of april if possible. Having the small areas let me use sheets of plastic to cover my plants. I have steel fence posts to put at each corner to affix the plastic to ...I can also cover this steel frame with plastic and make like a small greenhouse. It will be interesting to try these for sure.  Bonne is sending me some Hopi Pumpkin seeds for next year and then i bought some pink banana squash seeds this morning over on Etsy to try out next year too........NEXT YEAR !.......SSSSSiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!  Such a long time till i can garden again. My Fall garden dried up cause of all the heat and lack of water we have had . I still have the one pot of carrots out trying to grow ..

Since the strawberries all died out I will move them closer to the house . I plan to use these bamboo pieces of an old papa san chair to hold them in..

Lazy weekend

Since i decided to not fool with trying to sell any jeweley anymore.I can use all the beads I want in my designs .some will be for me.others for gifts and such :) The stone bear and beautiful blue flower beads were a gift from my daughter.

I finished the 2 bags from the repurposed sweater . They came out cute. Havent decide what to use them for yet . I did make it out for a little jog around the park and I took  long nap today .I am starting to feel bit better . I had a flu shot several days ago and it made me a bit achy all over :(

Few designs for me :)

I have had this one Fall silk leaf laying around in the craft supplies. I looked at it today and decided it would be just perfect for a necklace . I added a strip of leather to run the neckpart thru ..few gold circles and couple of crystal beads  and this is what it turned out to be .

After I worked out in the yard for the afternoon I was all energized. I finished the last episode of Babylon 5 Crusade while i created this necklace and earring set. The picture isnt good on this necklace  ..you can tell bettter in the earring pic what the silver rings and blue beads really look like

I miss my garden .......

Today was beautiful so i spent several hours cleaning up the garden areas.I SO miss my garden .....not only cause it was green and pretty but i miss just going out in the backyard and picking what i was going to cook for the day.

The food had such a better taste than what the grocery carries. I dont shop the farmers market cause to be frank .......the prices they charge are WAY beyond what i can afford.The garden has been dried since middle of August . The heat and drought situation killed it off month and half before it should have .  I did water at first but it just did no good and plants still died. I lost about 200 strawberry plants from july to august. Next Spring I will  have to replant. The patti pan squash and the corn did really well up to July .... will plant more of them next spring also.......

A very lazy day......

I have enjoyed a quiet afternoon watching Babylon 5 :Crusade on dvd and making some pendants . I have 50 colored necklace cords i won on Ebay for very little coming from China.(Will be a few weeks ) When they get here I want to have the pendants all ready to string on them.

I just love these glass crystal faceted beads . I wish the camera showed them alot better. They are a high quality bead that really catches the light . I had quite a few of them and I have decided to use them on up in designs.

I still had a few of these stone skull heads to use up today also. So i made a few pairs of earrings up with them. The blue stripe beads  are a turquoise and jasper mix.

This design looks really neat when worn............here in the pipc it really dont look like much :(

I absolutely loved these after I made them. So I made a second pair for me to keep. Pretty much all these pieces are for gifts or to put away to sell in case i find a craft festival before Xmas time. Etsy simply isnt doing anything so I hate to pay to list them .

It Is that time of year again......

It is that time of year again....... time to repurpose old worn out sweaters and sweatshirts into legwarmers and fingerless gloves and hats and fun bags and purses. I dont get the urge to do this till the first few cool days of Fall.

Here i have taken a childs knitted sweater that had a adorable sunflower pattern .It was free from a friend :)  I was able to cut it so i will have the sunflower motifs to turn into small bags and then the arms will become fingerless gloves or short legwarmers......havent decided which yet. I am hoping to get to work on this later this evening .The buttons are just too cute.........I will save them for an arm cuff possibly.. 

Next I have a childs embroidered shirt that i will be taking apart for the designs. Lots of crafty ideas to use it with..

This dusty blue childs sweater has seen better days.....but still plenty of wear left to turn into arm warmers and then rest of it I will save and use to stuff draft stoppers for the house doors.

The yellow childs sweatshirt is also worn out.......but i have cut it apart and will use as the insides for potholders . Rest of it will be 2 small cleaning rags and then whatever is left goes to be used as stuffing for the draft stoppers.

Then i traded a pair of earrings for several pieces of 1/4 yd fleece. Bit small for what I normally use ......but it also will be perfect for insides of potholders ....dare i mention that all my friends are probaly getting handquilted potholders for xmas ?

Wire Wrap Bead Rings .........

I have been working on wire wrap bead rings last 2 days. I just love them. It is a good way to use up pretty beads and not need a bunch for a whole necklace . I will be selling these local to friends for right now......5 bucks each... I hope to order a sizing mandrell for rings next paycheck and then i can make different sizes and offer them for sale in the Etsy store...... These last 2 i am keeping for myself......ignore my rough hands...I am a woman who works with her hands and they aren't a pretty site :(
